An Appleton man has been jailed after a physical altercation that injured two.
The Appleton Police Department received a call last week with the caller reporting they witnessed a man punch a woman in the face inside a parking lot in the area of Calumet Street and Oneida Street.
The caller witnessed the two individuals get into a vehicle, which prompted them to approach the truck to check on the female victim.
When making contact with the man, the caller was also punched in the face before they drove away.
However, prior to the vehicle driving off, the caller was able to obtain the truck’s license plate, which was provided to the dispatcher.
Not long after, an officer located the truck and performed a traffic stop to speak with the man and the woman.
Despite showing visible injuries from being punched, the woman denied that any disturbance had taken place.
At this time, the officer noted that the male suspect smelled strongly of intoxicants.
It was also learned that the suspect was out on bond with conditions of absolute sobriety and not to commit any crimes.
Following a review of traffic cam footage from the area where the disturbance occurred, the caller’s claims were corroborated, and authorities arrested the Appleton man on charges of Battery, Disorderly Conduct, and Felony Bail Jumping.
