Progressive Lakeshore People is planning another day of demonstration.
The group is holding a “Hands Off Our Parks” Rally on Saturday (August 2nd) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 475 Maritime Drive along the Ice Age Trail.
According to Progressive Lakeshore People and the Manitowoc County Democrats, the rally calls on state and federal leaders to keep public lands in public hands.
Attendees will hear from speakers, establish community connections, and have the opportunity to support local conservation organizations, such as Woodland Dunes.
The groups finish saying the event is a “peaceful, positive gathering to champion the idea that wild places belong to everyone—and that their true worth lies not in dollars, but in the renewal and wonder they offer.”
Progressive Lakeshore People has been holding rallies around the Manitowoc area since the election of President Trump.
