New measures are being rolled out to improve public safety at Brat Days in Sheboygan this weekend.
The Sheboygan Jaycees, the host of the annual celebration of bratwurst, has shared that they will be required to fence the entirety of the premises of Kiwanis Park for Brat Days, which takes place on Saturday (August 2nd), beginning at 11:00 a.m.
This change comes in response to regulations put in place by the Sheboygan Police Department and the Department of Public Works.
While admission to the event will remain free, there will be one entrance and exit.
For safety purposes, items such as backpacks, carry-ins, firearms, or pets will not be permitted.
Additionally, upon entrance to the event grounds, bag checks, ID checks, and wrist-banding for anyone 21 years or older will be done as well.
With improved public safety in mind, the Jaycees said, “These protocols will ensure safety for all entering the Brat Days grounds and promote a safe environment for all of the public.”
