The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for products shipped to the Midwest, including Wisconsin.
The FSIS has announced the alert in regard to Schnucks-branded Pork and Beef Tortellini due to misbranding and the presence of undeclared allergens.
Some of these packages of tortellini were discovered to actually contain pork and beef ravioli, which contains both soy and sesame, two known allergens that are not listed on the product label.
The products in question are 16-ounce frozen bags that will display a best by date of 5/27/26 on top of the bag with an establishment number of EST. 13051.
These items were shipped to a Schnucks distribution center before being sent to retail locations in Wisconsin as well as Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana.
At this time, there have been no adverse reactions reported due to the consumption of the products under the public health alert.
However, the FSIS urges consumers with the pork and beef tortellini in their freezers to throw them out or return them to their place of purchase.
