The City of Sheboygan and a recently shut-down business have made additional public statements regarding an ongoing dispute.
As SeehaferNews.com reported this weekend, Bounce Trampoline Park has been forced to shut down amid thousands of dollars worth of fines from the city, permitting issues, and apparent “moving targets” in the words of the owners, Courtney and CJ.
As this issue has become of particular public interest, the City offered a timeline of past interactions with Bounce for transparency.
That timeline included May 28th, when the City learned that Bounce had opened without receiving proper permitting, and in their words, refused to close their business when notified they were not in compliance.
The timeline continued to say, “Rather than closing their business, Bounce chose to assume all liability for the risks present in their facility and to receive citations daily until the facility was legally compliant.”
In response, Courtney and CJ have given their side of the timeline supplied by the City, which included refuting the claim that they “chose to receive citations.”
In Courtney and CJ’s minds, they were going to receive a temporary permit that would allow them to remain open, since that’s what the City said they would receive.
However, that temporary permit would never come, resulting in over $40,000 in fines, according to the owners’ original statement after closing.
