A Madison entrepreneur has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally exporting scientific and diagnostic equipment to Russia.
The exports violated U.S. restrictions imposed after Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Prosecutors say the man faces up to five years in prison for conspiracy and up to 10 years for each count of smuggling.
His sentencing is scheduled for October 7.
