A man wanted by police in Fond du Lac is now in custody.
The Fond du Lac Police Department has shared that 22-year-old Tyler D. Niederbaumer turned himself in to the authorities yesterday (July 28th) without incident.
Over the weekend, police took to social media to alert the public that a felony arrest warrant had been issued for Niederbaumer, who was deemed a person of interest following a disturbance near South Marr Street and East Division Street.
Fond du Lac Police arrived on the scene to learn that an individual had been stabbed during an altercation and that someone had fired a gun inside a nearby residence during the incident as well.
While no one was injured from the gunfire, further questioning of witnesses led authorities to the 22-year-old, who is now being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail.
Regarding Niederbaumer turning himself in, the Fond du Lac Police Department stated, “Although this is a significant development, this investigation remains ongoing and very active.”
They also thanked the public and social media followers for sharing their original post regarding Niederbaumer’s arrest warrant.
