A Taycheedah Correctional Institute inmate has been sentenced after killing her cellmate in 2023.
Court documents show that 29-year-old Taylor Sanchez was in court yesterday (July 28th) to be sentenced after previously being convicted of First-Degree Intentional Homicide due to a no contest plea.
Sanchez was sentenced to serve life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing her cellmate, Cindy Schultz-Juedes.
In addition to the mandatory life term for First-Degree Intentional Homicide, the 29-year-old was also ordered to pay more than $4,000 in restitution.
Sanchez had previously attempted to enter a not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect plea in the case; however, that was denied earlier this year after a psychiatrist’s report showed no evidence to support such a claim.
Sanchez was arrested in July of 2023 after Schulz-Juedes was found in her cell unresponsive in a pool of blood.
A criminal complaint further explains that she told investigators that she had stopped taking her medication and that she was hearing voices.
Prior to killing Schulz-Juedes, Sanchez was serving time for crimes committed in Kenosha County.
