While Democrats praise Governor Tony Evers for his last eight years, one Republican says his time as governor couldn’t come to an end soon enough.
3rd District Assemblyman Ron Tusler said in his weekly newsletter that Evers repeatedly clashed with the legislature and used his veto pen more than any other governor in state history.
Tusler continues to say that even when Republicans worked to pass bipartisan legislation, they were frequently met with vetoes or delays from Evers’ office.
The Harrison Republican calls a bill requiring healthcare workers to provide immediate care if an abortion fails, the most egregious bills Evers ever vetoed.
He also claimed that Evers didn’t care about rural Wisconsin with the Brillion dredging project, which is coming to fruition.
Two Republicans, Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann and Businessman Bill Berrian, have entered the race for governor, while Sara Rodriguez, Wisconsin’s lieutenant governor, is running for the Democratic nomination.
