A two-vehicle crash killed two people in Door County.
Door County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Highway 42 and County Road P last Friday (July 25th) just before 9:55 p.m. for the accident between a Tesla truck and an SUV.
The initial investigation reveals that the Tesla driver, a 43-year-old man from Green Bay, was traveling south on Highway 42, passing several other vehicles.
As the driver approached the intersection of County P, an SUV, driven by a 22-year-old Sturgeon Bay man, was making a left turn on P while also traveling southbound on 42.
The two vehicles then collided.
The driver and three passengers of the Tesla truck were taken to the Door County Medical Center, and a 71-year-old female passenger died at the scene.
The SUV driver was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reconstruction team is assisting in the investigation.
No other information is being released pending the notification of next-of-kin for the deceased passenger.
