An arrest warrant has been issued for a person suspected of firing a gun in the City of Fond du Lac.
The Fond du Lac Police Department was called to reports of a disturbance near South Marr Street and East Division Street on Saturday (July 26th) just after 11:30 p.m.
Arriving officers encountered multiple individuals who told police that one person involved in the disturbance had been transported to a local hospital via private vehicle for stab wounds.
The group also told the officers that during the altercation, a firearm had been discharged inside a nearby residence.
Initial investigations showed that a gun was recklessly fired in an apartment with rounds entering two different units; however, no additional injuries were reported.
Fond du Lac detectives then arrived on the scene to question witnesses who were able to identify 22-year-old Tyler D. Niederbaumer of Elm Grove as a person of interest in relation to firing the gun.
As a result, a felony arrest warrant has been issued for Niederbaumer for Recklessly Endangering Safety with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
At this time, the incident remains under the preliminary stages of investigation, and no additional information is available.
Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact Detective Kristina Meilahn at 920-322-3713.
