A local high school hoops legend will be honored by the Wisconsin Herd next month.
The Herd has announced that the Joe Wolf Memorial Golf Outing will be held on August 27th at Lake Breeze Golf Club.
The Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks’ G League affiliate, has decided to dedicate the annual outing to Wolf after his unexpected passing last year.
Wolf was a basketball legend in the area, having won three State Championships with the Kohler Bombers before attending the University of North Carolina, propelling him to be taken with the 13th overall pick by the L.A. Clippers in the 1987 NBA Draft.
After his NBA career came to an end in 1999, he entered the world of coaching, with assistant coaching stints that included the Bucks, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets, and the Herd at the time of his passing.
The golf outing will have check-in beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed by a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
After the golf has finished, raffles including an NBA and G League jersey will be held, with the money benefiting the Joe Wolf Foundation, which supports various charitable endeavors, including food distribution for those in need, cancer research, heart disease prevention, and more.
