The Manitowoc 19u American Legion baseball team is still alive in the Regional Tournament, but they are in for a tough final day.
Post 88 started the day on Thursday with a 4-3 loss to Kimberly. Manitowoc held a 3-2 lead entering the bottom of the 6th inning, but could not hold on. Brayden Steinbecker, Gabe Eichman, and Zach Bradl each drove home runs, while Cade Voelker took the loss on the mound.
With their season on the line, the Post 88squad came to play in game two last night against Kaukauna.
For the second time in as many days, Manitowoc knocked off the Angels, this time 11-4.
Aaron Stephany had three RBI in the nightcap, and Bennet Johnson and Steinbecker each knocked in a pair, while Bradl and Kam Braun punched in one run apiece.
Seth Gibault pitched the first six innings, and Eichman closed out the final frame with a pair of punch-outs.
The final day of the Class AAA regionals today will be a tough one for Manitowoc, as they will take on Kimberly once again at 5:00 p.m.
If Post 88 wins, the two teams will go again at 7:30 with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
