The City of Kiel is getting a new fire truck.
City Administrator Dave Funkhouser explained to SeehaferNews.com that it’s replacing an outdated fire apparatus.
The new truck has been included in the city’s 2025 budget and will be manufactured by Pierce Manufacturing.
The new fire truck was ordered two years ago and is expected to arrive in Kiel sometime this year.
The city council approved a resolution to borrow a $469,000 loan on Tuesday (July 22nd).
Funkhouser says that although money for the fire engine is already in the budget, the council needed to provide approval.
