No one was injured after two field fires in the Howards Grove area.
The Howards Grove Fire Department was called to the Town of Herman yesterday (July 22nd) just after 2:30 p.m. for a fire in a wheat field.
Arriving fire crews, including the Haven Fire Department, were able to quickly extinguish the flames before the fire got out of control.
Not long after, just before 3:30 p.m., crews were called back to the same field for a second fire that had broken out.
It was determined that a different round bale caught fire, which was put out without further incident.
No injuries were reported to civilians or fire personnel during either fire.
At this time, it is believed that both fires were caused by harvesting equipment.
