Bail has been set for the man who smashed up a car and fought with police.
40-year-old Raymond S. O’Conner was given a $3,000 cash bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting, and three counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
As of this morning, he has yet to furnish his bond. A total of 13 officers responded to the situation, which began as a disorderly conduct call.
O’Conner allegedly smashed up a car with a baseball bat and was later seen walking in the 800 block of South 26th Street.
When approached by officers, he began walking towards them, yelling expletives.
This led to a taser being deployed, while other officers had their firearms drawn as he continued to resist officers while on the ground, reportedly twisting his body away from them, spitting at them, and kicking his legs.
At one point, O’Conner allegedly admitted to smoking “a bunch of meth” and reportedly smelled of intoxicants.
As a part of his bond, O’Conner was ordered to not possess any weapons and to maintain absolute sobriety.
He is due in court this morning for his initial appearance.
