Multiple Manitowoc police officers were forced to draw their weapons during a recent arrest.
A total of thirteen officers were dispatched at around 4:00 Tuesday morning to a disorderly conduct call, where a 40-year-old man had smashed the windows out of a car with a baseball bat.
He was found walking in the 800 block of South 26th Street, and when approached by officers, began walking towards them, yelling expletives.
This led to a taser being deployed, while other officers had their firearms drawn and pointed at the suspect.
The man continued to resist officers while on the ground, reportedly twisting his body away from them, spitting at them, and kicking his legs.
At one point, he allegedly admitted to smoking “a bunch of meth” and reportedly smelled of intoxicants.
After being medically cleared at a local hospital, he was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting, and three counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
The vehicle was said to have shattered front and rear passenger side windows and rear windshield.
