A Sheboygan County representative and an Appleton state senator want to ensure parents are aware of their options to opt their children out of vaccination requirements.
Sheboygan Falls Republican Lindee Brill and Republican Senator Rachel Cabral-Guevara say the family-first bill would ensure parents are aware of their rights under Wisconsin law, including information about the waiver from vaccine requirements and a procedure for presenting it in any required pre-enrollment health-related forms.
Brill noted, “This bill does not change Wisconsin’s immunization laws or waiver criteria—it simply ensures that parents are informed of their rights at the time they are making enrollment decisions.”
She also says she’s incredibly grateful for the work being done by US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. by “defending the leading role of parents in the health of their children.”
