Newly released documents reveal that sheriffs in three Wisconsin counties entered into agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The ACLU of Wisconsin obtained records showing that Ozaukee, Brown, and Sauk counties had arrangements in place.
In Ozaukee County’s case, a March agreement allowed ICE to pay $80 per day for each detainee.
However, officials have since stated that the agreement has been rescinded.
