The second of two Sheboygan County teens convicted in a child sexual assault case has been sentenced.
Court documents show that 17-year-old Spencer Dietrich was in court on Friday (July 18th) after a jury found him guilty of Child Abuse – Intentionally Causing Harm and two counts of Intimidating a Victim with the Use of Force.
At the sentencing hearing, Judge George Limbeck ordered the 17-year-old, who was tried as an adult, to spend 18 months in prison followed by four years on probation.
With the jury finding Dietrich not guilty in April of the six other charges he faced, including First-Degree Child Sexual Assault and Incest with a Child, the court did not require the teen to register as a sex offender.
However, the other teen involved, 17-year-old Cole Guttmann, was convicted of Second-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and is now serving a four-year prison term and must register as a sex offender.
Initial reports suggested that the teens forced two young brothers into engaging in sexual acts with each other, recorded it, and then distributed the video to others.
Guttmann still faces two additional charges of First-Degree Child Sexual Assault – Sexual Contact or Intercourse with a Person Under the Age of 13 in Ozaukee County related to the same incident and returns to court for those charges on September 8th.
