A portion of a heavily trafficked trail in the City of Sheboygan has closed.
The Sheboygan County Planning and Conservation Department has announced that the southern portion of the Shoreland 400 Rail Trail is now closed between Wisconsin Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue.
The county has stated that this closure comes as the result of a redevelopment project in the area and will be in place for the foreseeable future.
While no definitive reopening date has been offered, the county says that they will reopen the trail as soon as possible.
During this partial closure, the length of trail north of Wisconsin Avenue to its northernmost point at North Avenue will remain open for use.
Anyone with questions regarding the closure on the Shoreland 400 Rail Trail can call the Sheboygan County Planning and Conservation office at 920-459-1370.
