Kohler Elementary School is now under new leadership.
The Kohler School District has announced that Nate Hinze has been named as the school’s next principal.
Hinze, a native and resident of Cedar Grove, comes to Kohler by way of Port Washington High School, where he served as the assistant principal and athletic director.
Prior to his time at Port Washington High School, he taught physical education at Wilson Elementary in Mequon, was the middle school athletic director in the Sheboygan Area School District, as well as a physical education teacher, athletic director, and coach in the Ripon School District.
Outside of education, Hinze is an extremely decorated athlete, having competed in the Paralympic Games representing the United States as a member of the men’s wheelchair basketball team.
Hinze is a three-time Paralympic Games gold medalist and has one bronze to his name as well, having made the podium in all four Olympic appearances in his career.
Hinze has said that he is honored to join Kohler, saying, “I look forward to working alongside students, staff, and families to build on the school’s strong traditions and to support each student’s growth and success. I cannot wait to get started and to get to know the members of this amazing community as we move forward together.”
