The Manitowoc American Legion 17u baseball season has come to an end.
It was a busy weekend for the team, as its postseason run began with a 5-4 win over Reedsville Friday night.
They kept that momentum going against the Green Bay Hornets, picking up a 9-2 win on Saturday at Casco Village Park.
Aiden Reinke had a memorable day at the plate, driving in 5 runs on a double and a home run.
But, on Sunday, Kewaunee County used a 3-run 6th inning to take down Post 88, forcing a win-or-go-home rematch against the Hornets.
Post 88 notched 5 hits, but couldn’t turn any of those base runners into runs, falling to the Green Bay squad 3-0.
The 17u squad ends their season with an 18-7 record, while Kewaunee County will try for a Regional title at 5:30 this evening against the Hornets.
Post 88’s 19u team will begin their postseason push on Tuesday, as they take on Kaukauna.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Sunset Park in Kimberly.
