A man was arrested in Manitowoc while a child drove him around in a vehicle.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Marshal Street and Calumet Avenue at 4:00 Saturday morning when they noticed a vehicle driving erratically.
The driver was said to be taking up multiple lanes, failing to use a turn signal, and crossing over the center line multiple times.
The officer turned on his lights in the 3200 block of Calumet Avenue, and the vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection in front of Pick N Save.
The officer approached the vehicle to find a child under the legal driving age in the driver’s seat and a 20-year-old man in the passenger seat.
The passenger gave a false name, which the officer noticed due to his photos already being in the system.
He was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on a charge of Obstructing an Officer, while the driver was cited for OWI, Deviating from the Designated Lane, and a Curfew Violation.
The exact age of the driver was redacted from the police report, but it was confirmed by Manitowoc Police that they were under the age of 16.
