The Kiel Fire Department is more than halfway to its goal of getting a new training tower.
The department reports that they’ve raised over 60% of their $55,000 goal, thanks to generous donations from the community, including a recent donation from Bob Schoenborn’s Jewelry.
The new training tower would allow for enhanced programs that help improve the safety and effectiveness of emergency responders by allowing them to practice in a controlled environment.
The tower would create an environment that simulates a real house fire, allowing emergency personnel to practice in a controlled setting.
Anyone interested in donating to the cause can do so by donating.
For more information about the program, residents can contact 2nd Assistant Chief Jared Roeck at jared.roeck@kielwi.gov.
