Fundraising efforts have begun for the family of a Sheboygan teen who recently passed away.
Eric Coleman, the father of 13-year-old Antonio Coleman, who lost his life in a swimming accident last week, has created a GoFundMe to help mitigate the funeral costs for his son.
The Coleman family has set the goal to raise $30,000, and as of this morning, that number has reached more than $26,000 thanks to a generous effort from friends, family, and the greater Sheboygan community.
In Eric’s message regarding the donations, he said, “Anything can help. We are hurt, and me and the family gladly appreciate any help. Thank you for the prayers…and God bless.”
Antonio was reported missing on Tuesday afternoon (July 15th), and following an extensive, multifaceted recovery operation, his body was found the following day near the area where he was last seen.
The Sheboygan Police Department has said that while their investigation into the incident at Jaycee Quarry Park continues, all available information points to this being an accident.
