The Manitowoc Police Department was represented during the funeral procession for a fallen officer.
Police Chief Nick Reimer said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that five officers and a motorcycle unit were sent to Milwaukee for the procession and funeral of Officer Kendall Corder.
Reimer says while the support can be overwhelming, it’s for a good reason.
“We want to show our support,” he stated. “It’s good for those officers, especially the younger ones to see that. To see what a funeral is. For an office to see the support of the community, wherever that happens.”
Corder and another officer were called to a domestic incident, which turned out to be an ambush.
Reimer says the event honoring the fallen Milwaukee officer was well attended. Corder is buried at the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
