
Manitowoc’s 16u American Legion baseball team saw its season come to an end after a tough loss in the regional round of the playoffs.
Post 88’s youngest squad started the double elimination tournament with a loss Tuesday against De Pere, falling 13-3, but they bounced back yesterday with a 12-9 win over Ahnapee.
Isaiah Hochmuth had a great day at the plate, securing four RBI on as many hits, while Ethan Emmett and Sev Lauson each drove in a pair.
However, in game two on the day, Manitowoc ran into West De Pere and fell 12-0.
Post 88’s 16u squad ends their season with a record of 11-9. The 16u regionals continue today with West De Pere facing De Pere at Westwood Elementary School in De Pere, and the winner facing Bay Port at 7:30.
Manitowoc’s 17u team will begin their postseason run this evening, as they take on Reedsville at Casco Village Park at 8:00 p.m.
They will then play at either 12:30 or 3:00 p.m. the following day. 19u Regional play will begin next Tuesday.
