A man from Appleton accused of using a firearm on the road has appeared in court.
Court documents show that 22-year-old Luke J. Vandenheuvel appeared in an Outagamie County courtroom on Wednesday (July 16th) and was charged with one count of First-Degree Reckless Injury and one count of Disorderly Conduct with a Use of a Dangerous Weapon modifier.
Court records further show that these charges stem from an incident that occurred this past Sunday (July 13th).
FOX11 reports that Vandenheuvel fired a gun into another vehicle in an apparent road rage incident.
A criminal complaint alleges that the other driver told authorities that the 22-year-old cut him off on Lynndale Drive in Grand Chute.
The driver continued to say that he then merged into the other lane before passing Vandenheuvel, who proceeded to follow the unnamed individual.
It is alleged that Vandenheuvel eventually passed the other driver and fired a round into his vehicle while doing so.
Authorities were later able to identify Vandenheuvel’s vehicle and obtained a search warrant for his Appleton residence.
He was subsequently arrested and is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
He will return to court on July 29th for his preliminary hearing.
