A former employee at a Green Bay bank has been convicted in a fraud case.
FOX11 reports that Amy Jo Reid pleaded guilty on Tuesday to three counts of bank fraud in a federal court.
According to a criminal complaint, while working at a national bank branch, Reid was authorized to use a bank-sponsored credit card, known as a purchase card, for making bank-related purchases.
However, Reid executed a fraud scheme in which she charged personal expenses on the purchase card and uploaded “bogus descriptions” to make supervisors believe they were legitimate purchases for the bank, when really, they were for her personal benefit.
The fraud occurred over a six-year period, from May 2018 to May 2024.
Reid eventually admitted to the national bank branch that she was stealing bank funds using the purchase card.
She will return to federal court for sentencing and could face up to 30 years in prison and be required to pay a $1,000,000 fine.
She will also have to pay almost $412,000 in restitution to the bank.
