Starting this fall, Wisconsin residents will see higher costs when transferring vehicle titles or renewing driver’s licenses.
The new state budget includes a $50 increase for title transfer fees during vehicle sales or ownership changes.
Driver’s license renewal fees will also rise from $24 to $32.50.
According to the Department of Public Works, each $10 hike in registration fees could bring in approximately $3.1 million annually.
State law permits counties to use registration fees to fund transportation initiatives.
