Green Bay city leaders have taken a formal step toward banning conversion therapy in Wisconsin.
The city council voted 9-1 in favor of a resolution urging state lawmakers to prohibit the practice.
The move follows a recent state Supreme Court decision.
That decision found that a Republican committee acted unconstitutionally when it blocked a state agency’s attempt to enforce such a ban, paving the way for new legislative action.
