A major donation from an anonymous community member is allowing the Above and Beyond Children’s Museum in Sheboygan to expand its services.
The museum has shared that an anonymous donor has offered $100,000 in funding to advance Above and Beyond’s ability to serve working families.
This funding will impact the museum’s 2025/2026 budget and directly allow the museum to expand its hours, programming, and inclusivity with mental health support and better opportunities to aid children with disabilities.
Gratefully, Allie Tasche, director of operations at Above & Beyond, said, “Inclusion isn’t something we stumble into, it’s something we co-create with the community, through deep listening, thoughtful design, and sustained commitment. This generous donation grants us the ability to meet the moment with action, removing barriers, expanding access, and placing joy, dignity, and belonging at the center of every experience.”
With this funding, the museum is now planning to open its doors on Wednesdays, weekly, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The “Play is Healing” programs will be widened to provide greater mental health support to parents and caregivers, while a “Play for All” program is set to be launched to create more meaningful and inclusive play opportunities for children with disabilities.
“Play for All” is scheduled to begin in September and is designed to meet diverse sensory, communication, social, and emotional needs.
