A doctor has determined that Amando Lang of Greenfield, who is accused of a 2019 fatal stabbing, is now mentally competent to stand trial.
The finding was disclosed during a court hearing on Tuesday.
Lang had previously avoided trial after being declared unfit and was committed to a mental health facility.
However, he was later released without law enforcement being notified.
His unexpected encounter with police during a recent 911 call on Father’s Day raised concerns over his release.
