Authorities in Sheboygan will be on the lookout for those not obeying speed limits this month.
The Sheboygan Police Department has announced that officers will be putting an extra focus on enforcing speeding violations in the City for the remainder of July.
According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was responsible for or played a role in over 28% of all fatalities on U.S. roads over the past 10 years.
Furthermore, data also shows that annually, almost 10,000 people are killed nationwide in car accidents due to speeding, meaning that approximately 27 people die daily as a result of not obeying speed limits.
With this in mind, Sheboygan PD is focusing on speed violations in an effort to make the City’s streets as safe as possible for motorists, bikers, and pedestrians.
