There will be some changes on the way for a major fishing tournament held in the City of Sheboygan next month.
The 2025 Coho Derby has shared via social media that all auxiliary events related to the event have been canceled; however, the fishing tournament will still be held on August 2nd and 3rd.
Normally a yearly tradition, the Coho Derby was brought back last year, but due to a lack of donation funding, the hosts have said that they are unable to offset the substantial logistical costs associated with hosting an event of this size.
The Sheboygan Event Company, the hosting entity, said, “To maintain the quality and integrity of the Coho Derby, we must ensure that the event is financially sustainable; unfortunately, that is not feasible this year.”
The group has also said that they are committed to the future of the derby and are actively planning to bring the event back next year in its full capacity.
The derby will be headquartered at The Wharf, located at 733 Riverfront Drive on the shores of Lake Michigan.
