Bond has been set, and charges have been made official for the suspect in an Oshkosh homicide.
19-year-old Daunte D. Riley made his initial appearance inside a Winnebago County courtroom yesterday (July 14th).
Riley was formally charged with First-Degree Intentional Homicide and Disorderly Conduct for his role in the fatal stabbing of 27-year-old Walter Brooks on July 5th at Oshkosh’s Menominee Park.
In addition to being charged, prosecutors set the 19-year-old’s bond at $1 million cash.
On the night of July 5th, Oshkosh Police were called to Menominee Park on the report of a car crash.
Once on scene, authorities found Brooks deceased behind the wheel of the car with multiple stab wounds.
Officers later discovered that there was a physical altercation that took place between several people who had gathered outside the park, which escalated and led to Brooks being fatally stabbed.
Following witness interviews, Riley would eventually be arrested and has now been formally charged with killing Brooks.
Riley will return to court on Monday for further proceedings ahead of his preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for July 24th.
