Now that summer is upon us and events are scheduled for nearly every weekend, Wisconsin Public Service is helping residents beat the heat and humidity.
While Eastern Wisconsin doesn’t have the highest temperatures in the country, a 90-degree day here feels much worse than in places like Arizona due to the moisture in the air.
This humidity causes sweat to evaporate much more slowly, making it harder for your body to naturally cool down.
WPS encourages Wisconsinites and those visiting the Dairy State to use a bathroom fan to remove heat and humidity after showers, cover pots and pans, and use the exhaust fan while cooking, and minimize additional heat generation in the kitchen to avoid excess humidity.
Dehumidifiers are also highly suggested to ease the wear and tear on air conditioning.
WPS also posted a video on its YouTube channel showcasing how you can level up your energy efficiency game.
