A local musical organization is looking to help teach the world to sing.
On September 20th, the Clipper City Chordsmen will take to the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance for the Teach the World to Sing fundraiser.
Last year, the Chordsmen raised over $7,000 for music programs at local schools, and this year, they are looking to surpass $10,000.
In addition to musical performances by the iconic Chordsmen and choruses from Valders and Manitowoc Lutheran High Schools, there will also be a raffle of multiple gift baskets.
To make this day even more special, the group is reaching out to men in our community who may be willing to learn three songs to sing with the Chordsmen on stage at the end of the show.
The songs are “I’m Sittin’ on Top of the World”, “What a Wonderful World,” and “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.”
Rehearsals will be held every Tuesday night at Grow It Forward at the corner of 15th and Marshall Streets in Manitowoc from 6:30 to 7:30 starting on August 19th.
There is no obligation to join the Chordsmen to participate.
