A former law enforcement officer in Neenah has entered his plea in a child pornography case.
22-year-old Owen Halls was present inside an Outagamie County courtroom yesterday (July 10th) for his arraignment.
At yesterday’s hearing, Halls entered a not guilty plea to both felony charges of Possession of Child Pornography that he faces.
At the time of his arrest on March 26th, Halls was serving as a probationary officer with the Neenah Police Department.
Two days prior to his arrest, the Kaukauna Police Department contacted Neenah PD, stating that they had received an Internet Crimes Against Children tip with the 22-year-old officer being the suspect.
Following the execution of search warrants and evidence review, Halls was arrested and subsequently fired from the Neenah Police Department.
Investigators later confirmed that he used numerous online accounts that contained child sexual abuse material.
Halls will return to court for a pretrial conference ahead of a jury trial at a later date.
