Manitowoc County could soon have a new county treasurer.
County Board Chairman Tyler Martell announced on his Facebook page that he wants to appoint 4th District Supervisor Jim Brey to the job after Kathy Reissmann announced she would be resigning.
According to Martell, Brey brings a wealth of experience in local government, having dedicated over three decades of service to the community through his roles on both the Manitowoc County Board and Manitowoc City Council.
During his career, Brey has served as chairman of the finance committee in both governments and was a former chairman of the Manitowoc County Board.
Martell finishes saying Brey is well-qualified to serve as county treasurer and “will bring stability, energy, and invaluable institutional knowledge to the office.”
Brey could be approved at the full County Board at their July meeting.
Reissmann’s last day on the job will be July 19th.
