A local non-profit organization has reached a milestone in fundraising.
Gumby’s Club Fore a Cure has announced that it has awarded over $1,000,000 to recipients diagnosed with cancer over the last 14 years.
Gumby’s Club Fore a Cure was formed in 2011 after Rob “Gumby” Roseff was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
That year, he gathered a group of friends to play golf, hoping to raise $250 to donate to a charity focused on cancer research.
Since then, Gumby’s Club has hosted numerous fundraising events over the years, with many volunteer hours dedicated to planning and overseeing these events.
Organization Board President Keith Roseff says, Gumby’s Club Committee will continue to raise money with Rob’s vision and memory as their guide.
The upcoming “Gumby’s Weekend” takes place this Sunday (July 13th) at Meadow Sports Complex in Manitowoc beginning at noon.
There will be a 5K Glow Run/Walk, bowling, golf, food, and music for attendees.
