A former Neenah police officer charged in a child pornography case is due in court.
22-year-old Owen Halls is scheduled to appear inside an Outagamie County courtroom today (July 10th) for his arraignment.
The former probationary officer with the Neenah Police Department is facing two felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Halls was fired by the department immediately after he was arrested in late March of this year.
His arrest was the result of an investigation completed in a joint effort between Neenah police and the Kaukauna Police Department.
Jamie Graff, the Kaukauna Police Chief, told Neenah Chief of Police, Aaron Olson, that they received an Internet Crimes Against Children tip with the suspect being Halls.
Following a review of evidence by the two Police Chiefs, numerous search warrants were executed, and the 22-year-old was placed into custody.
Investigators then confirmed that they had seen child sex abuse materials on his online accounts, including a Telegram account, a popular messaging app.
