A two-vehicle crash on Manitowoc’s west side resulted in an arrest.
The Manitowoc Police Department was called to the intersection of Calumet Avenue and South 30th Street at 3:20 Wednesday afternoon after being contacted about the incident.
By the time officers arrived, both vehicles had been moved to the parking lot of a nearby gas station.
A man was heard by dispatch begging the caller not to call the police.
The 51-year-old male driver admitted to looking away from the roadway, and when he looked back, traffic was stopped, and he collided with the back of another vehicle.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage, and no injuries were reported.
The man was found to be driving despite having a revoked driver’s license due to an OWI.
He was cited for Inattentive Driving, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, and Operating After Revocation, his second offence, and was arrested on two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping as he had two open cases.
One for Retail Theft, the other for his first Operating While Revoked charge.
