
Several Eastern Wisconsin students earned medals at the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference.
SkillsUSA Wisconsin sent 116 students representing 36 schools to compete in Atlanta last month.
Wisconsin representatives earned gold medals in five events, while Northeast Wisconsin Technical College students Nathaniel Ruechel and Wyatt Leverenz earned silver in the CNC 3-Axis Milling Programmer and Collision Repair Technology competitions, respectively.
Will Lamers also represented Eastern Wisconsin well, with the Fox Valley Technical College student earning bronze in the Automotive Service Technology event.
All contests are run by SkillsUSA with the help of industry, trade associations, and labor organizations, testing competencies set by industry.
In addition, leadership contestants demonstrated their skills, which included extemporaneous speaking and conducting meetings using parliamentary procedure.
