Manitowoc’s 19u American Legion Baseball team was shut out on their home diamond yesterday (July 8th).
Manitowoc would fall 13-0 in 5 innings in the losing effort to the visiting De Pere squad. It was rough day at the plate for Manitowoc who were unable to secure in the ball game and only saw two baserunners via walks.
De Pere jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the 2nd inning.
They would then add four more runs in the top of the 4th and 5th innings to bring the score to 13-0.
Cade Voelker would take the loss on the mound after exiting the game in the third inning after giving up five runs despite fanning four De Pere batters.
The loss now brings the 19u squad’s record to 13-6 who will have a short turn around as they will travel to take on Green Bay Southwest later today (July 9th).
Manitowoc’s 17u squad will also be traveling north to battle Green Bay Southwest, while the 16u squad is in action today against Shawano.
