John S. Bajdan, age 75, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at his caretaker’s home. John was born June 19, 1950 in Poland to the late Walter and Melania (Pawlowska) Bajdan. He arrived in the United States in 1963 with his parents and 4 brothers. He graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers. On September 1, 1973 he married the former Ann Swetlik, and they had three children together. John worked in road construction for over 30 years, retiring as an Operating Engineer, Local 139. He enjoyed fishing, boating, while also spending much of his free time in his workshop. He liked the challenge of building projects for the home which included a wood burning stove, log splitter, and utility trailer; just to name a few. John and his brothers also built his home and the homes of other family members.
John is survived by his children: Eric Bajdan, Sonja Schauer (significant other: Scott VanderBloomen), and Dayna Bajdan (significant other: Pete L’Empereur), grandchild: Allyson Kakes; brothers: Stanley (Mary) Bajdan, Frank Bajdan, and Felix Bajdan; Friend and former wife: Ann Bajdan. He is further survived by 3 sisters-in-law: Lydia Wolf, Sally Swetlik, Mary (Jim) McTrusty, and 1 brother-in-law: Stanley (Diane) Swetlik; two step sisters-in-law: Beverly Welnetz, Sue (Arthur) Faulkner; two step brothers-in-law: Ron Trochil, Jim (Michelle) Trochil. Along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives here and in Lithuania. John is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Melania Bajdan, brother Henry Bajdan, sister-in-law Sharon Bajdan, and nieces Stasha & Tanya Bajdan; brother-in-law Don Wolf, step brother/sister-in-law Jim Welnetz, Bette Trochil.
A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kellnersville, with Rev. Brian Belongia officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
