Additional charges have been given to the man accused of attempting to murder someone with an axe in Fond du Lac.
Court records show that 34-year-old Hayden Daffinson has now been charged in Washington County with three additional felony offenses, including Fleeing or Eluding an Officer and two counts of First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.
These new charges stem from the brief police pursuit that ensued once authorities tracked Daffinson to Germantown following a brutal attack with a hatchet that occurred on June 22nd.
The Fond du Lac Police Department was called to the 300 block of East Merrill Avenue by a woman claiming she had been attacked with an axe.
She told police that her attacker, Daffinson, had fled the scene and that she was actively bleeding.
Arriving emergency personnel found her with severe lacerations to her head, back, and limbs and performed life-saving measures before she was eventually flown to a hospital in Neenah for extensive surgery.
At last word, the 38-year-old victim had made it through surgery and is on the road to recovery.
Daffinson has been charged with a long list of felonies related to the attack, including First-Degree Attempted Homicide, First-Degree Sexual Assault, and Intimidating a Victim by the Use of Force.
He remains in custody in Fond du Lac County on a $5 million cash bond and returns to court on July 31st for a preliminary hearing.
