
A fire in Neenah has displaced multiple residents.
Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue was called to the 400 block of First Street in Neenah yesterday (July 7th) just after 5:30 a.m. on a report of a structure fire.
Upon the arrival of fire crews, they observed a multi-family residential building with smoke coming from the structure’s roof.
Firefighters were able to control, contain, and extinguish the flames within a few hours of arriving on the scene.
While flames were being fought, numerous units within the apartment complex suffered extensive water damage, which has displaced numerous residents; however, no injuries were reported to citizens or fire personnel.
At this time, there is no estimate on the cost of the damage and the Red Cross is assisting the residents who have been displaced.
Currently, the cause of the fire remains unknown and under investigation.
Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue was assisted in their response by the Winnebago County Communication Center, Neenah Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, and the Fire Departments of Appleton, the Town of Neenah, and the Town of Vinland.
