It was a full day of action for Manitowoc’s American Legion baseball teams yesterday (June 7th).
The 19u and 16u squads came away with victories, while the 17u team was defeated.
The 19u team would come away with a 3-1 win after defeating Little Chute in another game, which saw them once again battle back from behind.
Little Chute took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning before Manitowoc would answer back in the 5th inning thanks to a single from Bennett Johnson and Cade Voelker, who hit into a fielder’s choice, each scoring a run.
Brett Danielson would add an insurance run in the 6th to bring the game to its final score of 3-1.
Brayden Steinbecker got the win on the mound, pitching 4 innings of 1-run ball while picking up 8 punchouts.
Manitowoc’s 16u squad picked up a convincing win against Ahnapee, 14-4 while the 17u team fell to Fond du Lac at home 9-1.
The 19u squad will be back in action today when they travel to De Pere.
The 16u and 17u squads will have the day off today before taking on Shawano and Green Bay Southwest, respectively, tomorrow.
